Your dad hung out on rooftops before you did and he can still climb a fire escape to prove it. Screw parks, he knew those places were the bro football field, family picnic, dog toilet of the city where all the douches hung out on hot days. That’s why he set his sights higher to the untouched heights of the city skyline. Each night his roof transformed into his urban observatory for starry sky staring and it was the first place he showed your mom the Big Dipper.
So hipsters, next time you’re overlooking the edge of a building, holding back the urge to spit off it, while drinking tallboys of Tecate, remember this…
Your dad knew rooftops were the best place to look down on people first.
Big thanks to Sean for today’s photo.
Well, I wouldn’t say that I was in the great class, but I had a great time while I was trying to be great.

Rest in peace, Jack. I love you, and I will miss you so much.
